sadly it was sold, the best golf on earth.. :

1.8 digifant, with performance chip.
13.25 km. per liter petrol!
2 x 12" subs, 6 x 9 (x2), 6"(x2) Amp, Cd head unit, all sony components.
15" mag wheels, thier name not known.
(I have not driven a Gti yet, but can you beat the economy?)

I justified my reasons for calling my digifant the best golf because
of its economy.   Well I just bought MK2VRT's Gti. see the thread below.
http://www.vask.org.nz/index.php/topic,4977.0.html

I just used $166 traveling 1580 km.  Thats a long distance of
losts of uneconomical driving becuase of the busy traffic and
the season.  And I also spent the time chasing other commuters
who were in a bigger hurry than I was.  For you NI road users it cost
me $55 (36 litres) to Palmerston North (520km).
Now is something wrong with my Golf or do the 16valvers just kick butt?
- do any of your Gti's return the same figures?

Yes, my SA car has the same steering wheel and the fuel economy is similar, especially if you put 98 in it.

Yes.  Its got the SABS "strengthened" sticker things in the corner of all the windows
and tire pressures also given in Afrikaans.  :) By the way whats the difference between
SA spec and NZ new spec?  (apart from the stickers).

Losts of little things I do believe, one thing I think could be different is that the SA 8V GTI has solid front discs.
