Hi my recently aquired 1984 Gti ;D
1984 Golf GTI 3dr, NZ new, Capri Green, 1.8L 8 valve K-Jetronic EV engine, Manual, 345,000km's, Sunroof, MFA
stock standard
P-slots including spare
Reasonably tidy interior as well, not bad for a 24 year old car!

Really, i always thought the Mk1 was better ;D

Anything pre mk3 is the best, the mk1 was their first attempt and wasn't a bad effort, creating the first hot hatch, but there was alot of development and the the mk2 the quitessential golf ;D

thanks guys, adjusted details in original post. At this stage i need to try and keep it standard to save $$$ for O/seas trip :-\ ...Try...very hard. I bought gti grill today :-X

Future plans are Mk3 running gear, brakes, power steering, maybe even ABF >:D dump it and new wheels that's about it.

I love my mk2 gti, its soo reliable and fun to drive and cost bugger all to maintain, all ive done is new brakes all round, ball joints, tie rod ends, strut mounts, wheel bearing and a cv boot
