After months of flaffing about, I've finally got the front end sorted out. Just need to get its new headliner put in and front seats repaired / replaced

Looking good BCH! I'm in the same boat, have headliner out at the moment and have sourced some mint seat covers just need to re foam and then cover. Are you going to have a crack yourself?

Thanks Karts  :) I haven't yet decided how I'm going to tackle the seats. Where abouts did you source your seat covers from?  I'm hoping to keep it original so if I could find some original fabric that would be great. I'd love to see how you do it as it could be inspiration for me to give it a try!

Haha, I was hoping you'd go first! I've got a garage full of seat frames that I need to piece together then re cover. In regards to fabric I bought some seats on ebay uk, got them couriered to an auto upholsterer who stripped them for me then got them stuffed in a suitcase for a family member to bring home. A bit of a process but they are MINT so well worth it. I may have some spare fabric from some rears that I'm not using that might work for you. Where do you need to replace?

I did what KARTS did, found some on ebay, but mine were stripped so a little more straight forward, shipped in a bag, cheap as.  Mine were re upholstered by Auto Interior specialists in Mahuru st Newmarket.

I've got the usual bolster wear and a generally tired drivers seat. If I can source the same fabric I'll probably just fix up the one seat. Otherwise it may be a total interior rethink

I've been putting it off adding my cars to this (cause of not having good photos!) but here,

This was my mk2 Golf I had about a year ago, brought it not going, only needed the electronic points changing, drove it up to my first Stance off with the Hamilton guys like this

Then sold it because we needed the cash. I had it like this on TradeMe, but the buyer didn't want the wheels

I think I fell in love with Jettas after seeing Duncans one!  :P  ..and found this one in Wellington with a very VERY slippery clutch!

And have got it to a wof-able stage now (it's only taken me 9months!!! :o ) but with a new edition to the family, that has taken priority of my time. Have added Standard Shortened shocks and compressed springs all round, but the back is rubbing so that needs tending to, badgeless single headlight golf grille with eyelid from Baxter, and the OG's for something better to look at than the standard 14"steels. It's got a carbied engine which is cool for a difference

Plans are to add the sway bars I got off Basil, a stereo that works and some signage for my business on the bottoms of the doors, then in due time, coils, cert and some body mods which I are just ideas at the moment  ;D  Since it is carburettored, I'd love to 16V it with quad carbs, but that maybe is just a dream

Thought about Vinyl wrapping the front guards and bonnet in carbon fibre vinyl (since that's my job!) just for a short term. I know alot of people won't like that, but it's also got to be a work vehicle and shows a little about what my company can do.

Biggest problem is if the seats get damp as they do the wire rod that holds the centre cushion firm into the edge of the top and bottom boosters corrodes and wears thru the fabric sleeve which is nothing more than a light weight cotton material?.
These are hard to fix because the rear seat back is a sleeve over the frame and bolster.
We have very nice covers (thanks to MM) but loose baggy seats, sewing the wire sleeves back on is a major as it is sandwiched between the top fabric seam.
The boosters are and easy fix but the above issue requires a lot of unpicking and careful machine sewing to fix, good luck.
