OK, so no-one's posted on M.A.N before, so here goes.

I'm now working for Ritchies North Shore depot doing urban bus work and have been put on express trips to and from the Auckland CBD, largely I think because I have both class 2 and class 4 licenses as well as my P endorsement.  A couple of Fridays ago I was allocated the bus in the photo, you need a class 4 to drive these.

What surprised me was that it was simply a nice vehicle to drive, there was a real feeling of quality to the steering, everything was tight and worked well, except that the brakes were a little grabby in the transition from retarder to service brake.

Despite the extra metre plus of length compared to a standard bus, it quickly shrunk around me and became less intimidating and an enjoyable drive.

Not often that we get a bus roadtest, so interesting for a perspective on something different
