Gee, you wont want to drive it now for fear it getting dirty.

This just arrived (from Sheffield via my dad).
Hoping it will work! It's from a 1987 Nissan Bluebird so it has different wiring but I've found a pinout diagram. Good job because all the wires are black or red.

I went over to Finer Details NZ to add the Audi rings and pinstripes. I decided to just go with the double centre stripe on the sides.

Two years ago today, the full extent of rust was becoming apparent. Don't leave your classic Audi in a paddock!

I certainly admire your commitment Rob, anyone else possibly would have wrecked and stripped her for parts.
How far away from getting everything complete and WOF'd ?

You have come a long way over those two years and the latest pics show just how much, it looks awesome

And to think I said I'd have it on the road in twelve months! :D

Just need to get the speedo reliable - wiring I think
And sort that oil leak - new oil pressure switch on its way
and fix the stalling on idle issue when warm - not sure on that one! Needs some troubleshooting.

Just a thought Rob,
Have you checked all the vacuum lines around the cold start valve?
I recall having a small idling issue on my first WR. Replacing one of the rubber lines in under the cold start valve component cured that.
Most of the lines are small diameter rubber with the braided sheath, but there is a larger diameter one right underneath that can be overlooked.
Other than that, make sure the metal diaphragm in the metering head on top of the airbox seats correctly when closed. If it's off center it would cause problems at idle. There should be a tiny gap all around it's circumference when "closed". Will have to find out what that gap is though.

RobClubley

Thanks, I'll check it out. I've ordered some vacuum line, clips, joiners etc to replace all of the lines eventually.

I thought I might keep it :D

I have to wait a few more days for Chris to finish the coating. He's fitting me in around other jobs, hence the delay.
Then I've asked him to drop it next door to Kohl Rod and Custom to get the brake leak sorted. Only 6 weeks until Leadfoot and I need to get a WoF soon so I can do some test runs.
