Looks like they made a nice job of that
I'm really looking forward to the 'big reveal' but I guess we will have to be patient for a while yet

Old vs. new window regulators. The new one bolts straight in but the holes to bolt the window to the new one are not in the same place. Some modification required.

The one I got was identical to the one on the right. Is that your original one?

Yes the new one is a new remanufactured part. Supposed to be direct fit built not 100 % it turns out.

Little things...

The window regulator is finally in. Really stiff going up though. Something needs lubricating or adjusting. Will work it out.

Grabbed half an hour in the garage so I ignored the sticking window and re-fitted the vents and centre console. I'm going to have to stop putting off that wiring soon.

Nice build! I haven't read through all 52 pages, but does it have the original 197bhp engine and if so are you keeping that or upgrading to a later model engine?

Thanks :)
Yes the engine is all original as far as I know. I plan on cleaning it up and keeping it stock, for the foreseeable future at least.

Popped down to find a piece of paper on my garage bench. Got distracted and fitted some trim.

Looking good.
That trim has scrubbed up very well

Next job, get the pipes reconnected to the diff lock switch in the right order.

Went for a bit of quattro therapy time and started on the wiring.

It's such an epic tangle with wires crossing and going from one bundle to another that I've given up on the idea of making it look neat. I've un-knotted it as much as I can. It'll be hidden away anyway. So as long as it works and is safe, that's my goal!

I was intending to sort out the diff lock switch but all the guides say I should have a red pipe and I don't. So another thing that has been altered or replaced.
Also the diagram I have doesn't actually say which pipe goes in which hole. I just found this, which should help a lot along with the diagrams.

Out of the garage for a little bit. Apologies for mucky paint. Holding out until I'm ready for Finer Details NZ to clean and make it look awesome.

Dropped the Azevs off with Chris from Finer Details so he can coat them with CQuartz protective coating. Then I need to get some tyres.

Lol, I hadn't noticed that! An optical illusion I assure you, but I'm pretty sure Brianna does like to scare me when she can.
