It's starting to feel that way!!

You'll forget all that the moment you are driving the completed car.

Got a few minutes to do a couple of small jobs.

The easy to get to engine mount is done :)

And pulled the rusty radiator cowl off and slapped some paint on it :)

I reckon that rubber flap might be past it.

Check out my rusty turbo. As expected of course. Not looking forward to the day I have to remove those nuts!

Driver side engine mount in place, with rusty nuts :D
It's a bit different to the one that was fitted but it fitted okay so I went with it :D

That looks a lot like a K&N filter. Have I found the first decent part fitted to my car? Needs a clean of course.

While you're looking around, keep a can of CRC or something handy and start squirting those bolts. By the time you want to take them off, they might cooperate.

RobClubley

Sigh. Managed to drop the sealing washer from one of the banjo bolts on the fuel line. Of course it didn't come out of the bottom. Will have to take the airbox back out to look for it.

So instead of doing that I made a rubber flap thingy.

I failed to find a new washer at any local car shops, then I remembered the donor car, and found one on one of the bits. Got it all back together then looked over and noticed this gasket. I used all of the swears.

Oh look, something was broken.

This looks okay in a photo but really rough in real life!

The radiator's back in and looking a bit tidier.

Rob, what happened to all your early photos? From pages 1 - 57 they don't seem to work.

Ahh bugger, they were linked from Autoclique forum, which is no more, as no-one used it.
I might be able to fix them up from ones I have on FB, or in my articles on DriveLife.

Have re-linked a load, looks like a lot of the ones linked from Facebook have changed URL too. Run out pof patience for now, though.

Looks a bit better painted.

Got some bits and pieces delivered including these exhaust hangers and brake caliper seal kits.

I sprayed a bit of degreaser around under the engine. Super Cheap's own brand, it's pretty good.

Front subframe with some paint slapped on and some nice new poly bushes and mounts attached.

All of the ABS sensors have lost most of their outer shielding. What's the best thing to re-wrap them? I'm optimistically assuming they work :D

Just do an Ohm continuity test on each one with a multi meter before you install them. The sensors themselves are normally around 1000ohm each.

I've got a carbon radiator cover that fits my RR perfectly - the original was ragged!

Here's one that should fit yours:

That looks like knuckle-skinning fun.

Exhaust removed at last. It's not great.

Front wishbone bushes removed. It went well so I decided to do the rears as well. Yeah they're a bit rusted in.

Removed the drive shaft to clean it up and sort out the CV boots. This might explain why one wasn't attached - the part it's supposed to seal to isn't round!

Looks like this is where all of the CV joint grease ended up.

Worms

If there had been a truckload more CV grease, I reckon you'd have less rust issues! :-)

Keep up the good work though - it's good to watch :-)

That explains the rorty riot when you jandal it then. :)
