Took the dash out.
Four screws to get the instruments out (two were missing) and five bolts to remove the dash.

I decided to be sensible and booked a local car transporter to get it to the paint shop this coming Monday. I was tempted to drive it there - about 1km - but knowing my luck something would happen.

Seeing it n the sun I'm now wondering if is is graphite metallic after all. But in the old photos in this thread is looks black. And in the garage it looks black. Hmm.

I said they should take their time if it makes the bill cheaper - probably 2 months maybe a bit more. They have promised regular email/photo updates :D

Is that the only sever rust or is there more......will be an interesting fix

There are rusty holes in both sides - on the driver side in the corner of the back window and the passenger side near the B pillar.
Under the passenger side hole there's rust at the join from wing to floor which goes right through.
Holes rusted around both rear lights
Hole in the A pillar near the passenger door hinge.
Quite bad rust by the sun roof
Surface rust on the rear bumper mount.
About a dozen holes to weld up left by the towbar.
Also filler in the rear corners from a previous repair - no idea what's under there yet!!

There are pics of most of these earlier in this thread.

This is a really rough picture - but:
White wheels - because rallycar.
Anthracite - because more modern.
Black - because 80s and Knight Rider and stuff.
Thoughts?

Am old school am afraid, I prefer them silver as they currently are. I think it sets off the black paint better. To me, black/grey wheels on any car just look dirty  :D
