I would be very nervous about putting them on.....I can just envisage the bubbles and then standing back to admire and thinking, 'that's not straight'  :(

Finally it stopped raining and I could get the angle grinder out



Almost got the steering rack out. Not sure if the quattro has the same one but it seems like a good thing to save. There's one bolt that looks impossible to get to without dropping the transmission. Bugger.

Yeah maybe that was a bad idea. I did have that thought.
I'll see what they've done when I drop off my Skoda for repair in a couple of weeks and if it still hasn't started I'll attempt to retract my "not in a rush" comments :)
