Hmmm, interesting.
Still, on the bright side it gives you another colour combination to consider  ;D

I missed the update but which wheels did you end up getting in 18" Rob?

Speaking of quattro and wheels, heres an older thread of a VASKers (Jay) ur that ended up with a nice set of rims on it:

The body is definitely going to be Montego Black Metallic.
Wheels I'm currently thinking Zermatt Silver.
Occasionally swinging back to white.

Those in silver will look great with black paintwork
White might be a bit too contrasty and consequently 'in your face' rather than  sophisticated good taste.
I hope I'm not stepping on any toes saying that

Caught up with this just now...... good to see progress, Rob.

Did you decide to can the personalised plate?

If not, I like Bullseye's suggestion of UROOOO, but URQQQQ is available too, which also looks pretty good.

You're either into PP or not. I happen to like them.
I'm constantly getting good feedback on my Amarok plate AMROKN.

I was offered AUDI 00 by another VASK member, already made up in Euro plates so I decided to go for that :)

I have a unmanufactured Personalised Plate for on my car "some day" but just cannot bring myself to get them made, as it'd mean relinquishing its original plates. What a sad old beggar I've become😕. I don't particularly like PP's though, - they've got to be either clever or obtuse enough to be a puzzle, or to be accurate (like 280Z on a Nissan Fairlady, not TWOATZ - though that looks kinda funny now I've written it).

18's look good in silver or white to me.

I've never understood why someone would pay so much to put a plate on their car that says what the badges already say.
Bought not built.

Definitely silver for the Azevs... Classier look IMO.

What size tyres would you use?

RobClubley

I'm thinking 225/40R18

235/35R18 are actually closer to the original size but might be a bit on the wide side.

My wheels have gone from Akl to Christchurch. I'm sure DHL know what they're doing.

I found a pic of an ur on 18s. They look a bit large.

LOL, but I do hope they then don't enforce that 'awaiting payment' update...

Haha.

I think why those wheels look too big Rob is because those tyres are so small and not wide enough. Get well fitting tyres and it should look fine.

Ideally I need a friendly tyre fitter who can try out a couple of sizes for me.
