Bit of progress this weekend.
Connected up the brake lines, torqued up the front driveshaft bolts, repaired and fitted the rear left driveshaft, broke off the corroded shielding on the ABS sensors, re-wrapped and re-fitted them, replaced a broken wire to the rear diff, not sure what it does (yet), looked at a few other things and pondered them :D

I thought I'd better clean this out..

Yay, got this nut back on. I damaged it trying to get it out of the hub.

And it's in

Brake lines are all complete. No fluid in there yet.

Ticked a few things off the list but I keep adding more.

The damaged fuel line and the replacement I bought from Audi tradition. Not sure that's the right one

I'm itching to clean it. Need to wait until Final Touch Wellington to do it properly.

Wow... your garage is dusty....  >:D

I know! The concrete floor is gradually turning to fine dust. Need to paint it.

That's awesome. I wish I had the time, money and patience to do it to that level.

Last night I decided to put some brake fluid in mine. Got the master cylinder and bias valve bled then went to do the right rear and fluid started leaking from the left rear. I hadn't crimped it properly and it hadn't sealed. So I ended up cutting the end off the hard line and re-crimping it while brake fluid dripped out all over my hands and tools. Got it to seal and did the other side but now I can't get any fluid out of the rear left caliper so I think I may have managed to seal it completely somehow!!
By this time it was 10pm and I was over it so will re-visit that one.

Finished bleeding the brakes. Need to do it one more time with an assistant to double check.
Also filled up the coolant and power steering fluid.

Fitted the new fuel tank to pump hose. Doing it like this seems to make sense and I didn't need to cut it. Need to sort out the clips and stuff to make them better.

I couldn't resist...

Also got the handbrake connected up last night. That was a bit fiddly.

I'm very excited. Buying in NZ was a bit more expensive than ordering myself but it removes some risk with import duty, and warranty.

I went for the dark tips.

Dark tips correct - most like original.
"bit more expensive" is worth avoiding the hassle now with the GST/custom fees that are wacked on.

It's not just GST you have to pay - you have to go through a customs agent and they charge a frickin fee on top.

Don't forget to tighten all of your hose clamps.

I borrowed some big boy tools from my mate. Got the hub nuts tightened in two minutes.

Put 4l of petrol in. None leaked :D
Just need to double check the brake bleeding and I can put the wheels back on.

:)

Attached some wheels. Still have tiny bubbles in the brake fluid when I bleed the front left. Need to sort that!

Oh and I've misplaced my locking wheel nut key. Sigh.

Are you using a pressure bleeder or doing it the old fashioned way?
I used a pressure bleeder on my Legacy and it made the job really simple even for a 1 man job. No issues with the pedal pressure creating bubbles.

Old-school using the wife to pump pedal and a tube/bottle.

Tried firing it up again with a full battery, it turns over but won't fire. Going to get some more fuel in there as it's pretty much empty in that cavernous tank.
