It was great to see your car at the swapmeet.
You made one of our clubmembers day he has a stuning classic bathhurst monaro, so he knows his cars.
He remembered the quattros from the WRC in New Zealand in the 80's and thought people most likely would have no idea of the significance as they walked past it.
I couldnt bring mine as i am still waiting for my coolant hose kit and get the driver seat recovered by the Kohl's with the cloth i found in Austria.

It was good to be there. Sorry I couldn't hang around too long, I had to get back and help the wife at work :)

You know what's annoying? Paying monthly for a car park then leaving the pass in your other car and having to pay $25.60 to park for work. First world problems I guess.
At least I found an Audi friend to park next to.

I have a pass and a barrier remote. I swap between cars all the time and usually put them in my work bag. I forgot this time!

That seems to have passed quickly although for you, I suspect it may have seemed a lot longer, especially when the hurdles kept   looming up.
Time now to  enjoy the well earned fruits of your labours

That car sounds so good! And the pops and bangs it makes are just rude.

Finally got the Classic Quattros under tray fitted, fixed the passenger side window switch and the drivers seat adjuster. And worker out why the heater isn't coming on. Need to take the centre console apart and see what the wire is fouling on.

Saturday night meet in the dark :)
Had to get a jump start from Bryan's AMG Merc.
My almost new battery is only delivering 10 volts despite being fully charged.

Hmm. I took the battery back to Repco and they tested it, it's giving 700 amps and 12.7 volts.
Tried another new battery, same issue.
Put original battery back on, fired up first time.
It seems worse when it's warm which is strange. Turn the key, and you get nothing at all. Not even a click. But lights and everything else work. Turn it again and it works.

I'm thinking possibly a dodgy earth somewhere, or the ignition switch. It's strange that jumping it to another car fixed it straight away. It's very random.

We'll see! This has been an issue since day 1, I've never put much effort into it until now.

I had a problem like that years ago in Renault Fuego, totally random , intermittant loss of starter.
Auto electricians were full possible causes, even to fitting an additional relay to circumvent the 'dodgy French connections', their words and this was when the car was quite new.
Problem was eventually solved when I had to ORDER the guy to remove and check the starter after they had rechecked everything again and said all was OK.
Turned out to have a dry joint.
The starter on the Fuego was very inaccessible (by the 1980's standards) and I think he just didn't want to make the effort.
