A friend has a 2006 A3 2.0 fsi which has a shudder under acceleration at around 65-70 k.  Feels like a wheel out of balance but only happens when accelerating gently.  Have fitted new tyres, balanced and wheel alignment.

Any ideas?

Does it have aftermarket wheels?
No, standard wheels.  The vibration was there before replacing all four tyres two wheels ago, still there with new tyres and wheel alignment.

These are my thoughts and opinions - sometimes I'm wrong, but not often ;-)

Turned out to be inner CV joints as suggested. $218 + gst each + fitting by Qualitat. All good now.
