Hi everyone. Got an issue with our Golf and hoping for some advise.
Engine will start and stop immediatly. It has been doing this for a while and has finally died.
Scan tool says 01249 injector for cylinder #1 has short to ground.
Engine is AGU with around 160000km. Is this a common fault? Should I replace all the injectors?
If so where would the best place to source them?

If it starts the dies straight away its probably the immobiliser.  What did you use to read the codes?

I've just got one of those cheap scan tools,it's called AUTEL.
I've recently replaced the ignition control module and and spark plugs
and it was running well untill now.

I have the original injectors from my AUQ 1.8t
Not sure if they're the same.

My injectors are part number 06A 906 031 BA

According to a bit of Googling they are not quite the same.

http://euroturbo.net/product-info/vw-1-8t-engines-stock-components/1-8t-oem-fuel-injector-index/

AGU   150   9.5:1   K03   06A 906 031   277ml

AUQ   180   9.5:1   KO3S   06A 906 031 BA      310ml

So I guess they wouldn't suit as they'll flow too much...

Thanks for that, I got the engine running yesterday after testing the injectors and test drove it.
everything working great,it starts good when warm but when I started it this morning it started and died
straight away but then restarted and was good as again? So no further ahead yet.

Turned out to be a faulty fuel pump/ injector relay. replaced and all is good.
