mk4 golf aerial

Hey everyone,a mate has a 1999 mk4 goft gti and it comes with the radio aerial on the back of the roofline by the top of the hatch,its broken and needs to be replaced....how do you get it off? we can't find how to replace it,any tips would be greatly appreciated? cheers

The mast screws on/off, is that what's broken, or is it the base you are talking about?

yeah, just grab it and turn anti-clockwise

mast is sometimes stuck just keep working it, it will eventually loosen and unscrew.
the base has a nut you can loosen from under the rooflining, if you open the boot and remove the rear trim you can fit your hand in there with the spanner without removing the roofliner.
