Next year they releasing the RS 4x4 which styling still resembles the current model RS not the new facelift model with the split headlights Should make a very nice alternative to the Golf R

I'd argue the 206kW Superb wagon is the Golf R wagon alternative. Down by 16kW/30Nm but higher spec, bigger and $16k cheaper.

Agree the Superb is nice, in fact if the current model came out in Manual I'd be tempted, but nothing a tune can't fix to get it to where it needs to be aye ;)

There's a Superb wagon in the UK running over 500bhp.

This allowed for a very impressive 11.46 ? mile, a time comparable to the time of a Lamborghini Huracan :)

SUPERB (520ps)                                0-60mph: 3.27s 0-62mph: 3.47s    ? mile: 11.46s @ 120.28 mph

Got links to photos and specs? We are still hunting for a used Golf R but the new 230RS looks great, but lacking AWD and just a tad too large for us.
Current: 2004 MK4 R32 3-door NZ New DBP

Past: 2010 MK6 GTI / 2013 Nissan Leaf LOL / 2007 B7 RS4 / 2006 MK5 R32 / 2005 MK5 GTI / 1998 MK4 GTI / 1997 B5 A4 MTM

I thought I read that there'll be a petrol version but upon further reading it looks to be Diesel option only at this stage? which is by no means a Golf R equivalent, so at this point the 206KW Superb 4x4 is the closest thing to the Golf R
