Hey guys,

I need to replace my brake lines as I can start to see cracks in the tubing... Where can I get a new set and how much would they cost?
Braided or non-braided? I've just got the standard brake discs front and back.

Found these online (ECS) and it's approximately NZ$240 shipped. Worth it or is it better to buy locally.

I'm not sure what is suitable for me as I think braided lines are a bit overkill.
Cheers   ;D

I've been looking at these for the quattro:

Should be less than $200 shipped.

I've always just got a local brake shop to make me custom lines for the Kombi, since aren't available off the shelf in NZ. Just standard brake lines but much less than $200.

To be legal in NZ they either need to be standard OEM or steel braided made by a place with an LVV certificate.... One place in Auckland is GSS (just round the corner from GT refinishers.... I'm sure there are plenty of others).
They have to be labelled correctly or you won't (shouldn't) get a WOF...

That doesn't sound too bad in my opinion. Do you get them fitted as well or install them yourself? Any place you can recommend?.

LTNZ have removed the requirement for compliance with an approved standard, and instead focused on a requirement for the WoF issuers to ensure that a hose is manufactured using a swaging or crimping process to attach the end fittings, instead of those that are assembled with screw-together end fittings

Thanks for the link. Was looking into changing over when I do brakes next and they have in stock. No need for ECS exorbitant shipping costs.....

The kombi wasn't road legal at the time so I brought in the old ones and they made them for me, and I fitted them myself. I'm sure most brake places can fit them for you though.
