Any ideas on the best way to debadge from bodywork without marking the paint work? I am looking at changing chrome badges to black. Also, has anyone out there purchased an aftermarket grille; ie Honeycomb mesh RS style for a B8 S-line. Wanting to go black fittings on my white B8.

Best way with your badges is to use a piece of fishing line fine enough to fit between the badge and the car and work it through with a sawing motion, this will cut through the glue and release the badge. Then it's just a matter of cleaning the glue off the paint work.

Plastidip is the other option with for the badges, you can spray them black without removing them.

A little heat from a hair drier helps soften the glue's hold and I've successfully pried badges off in the past doing this. "A little" is key here - don't use a heat gun.

Thanks for the feedback...successfully replaced silver S-line and Audi badges with black, and have installed gloss black RS grille. Hair dryer and dental floss worked a treat for me to debadge, then some Dissolve-It.

Dental floss also works. Take your time and as also posted above - it's easier if you warm the badge/glue up first with a hair dryer.
