Hi Guys,
New to this forum so please forgive any forum faux pas

I've got a fairly standard AEB engine with a K04-015 and FMIC but want to push a bit more power. Ive been eyeing up the united motorsport Stage 3 tune for the AEB engine.  Has anyone used this tune or have any further details on it?  The united motorsport site has a bit of info but not much.

Also, I know the AEB's stock rods are the weak point of the engine but I'm wondering how much I can push these rods before upgrading becomes a necessity? I'm looking for examples of the torque levels you can push on stock rods.

Thanks in advance for the replies.

I belive the 1.8t rods were good fro 350whp max and the pistons 500whp. that's a ball park

Do you have any idea of what the magical, rod killing, torque figure is?

it's torque management that is the key.
Not the HP figure.

United motorsports are very good indeed. But insure they can support our regions box codes.
As the USA got different setups with all kind of emission control etc.

If I were you I would be upgrading to a wideband dbw ecu and loom from a 2001+ model. Easier to tune with a lot more features.
