I tend to think that if you are going to purchase one of these vehicles then you have taken into consideration the maintenance costs of getting any mechanical work done on them. I have a mechanic who looks after my A4, but I will not have him service my V10. When I bought my A4 she had had a pretty tough life. Body was ok but the engine was sadly lacking. It was my first Audi and I didn't know anything about them. (Didnt do the homework). I put the car into Qualitat in Penrose  Auckland, and they were brilliant to deal with. They would phone you and tell you the problems they had found, give you a price and you said yeah or nay. That car runs as sweet as at 185000km.  I would recommend them for a substantially higher class of vehicle servicing.
