Mk2 20vt o2a advise needed
« on: June 15, 2017, 08:51:21 pm »
hey guys,
just wondering if anyone had any advise on the 020 to 02a conversion, im looking into it and want o know if i could source all the parts in the north island.
from the looks of it the hydro conversion for clutch is the way to go, but would it be easier to weld one on? i doubt it would be easy to find a corrado one here. and for the shift tower i would prefer to have the stock cable shift is there any way around changing it?
Daddy why is your car called rabbit?

but in all seriousness Hydro is one way to go or get the Eurovan Cable Conversion kit

both will cost you an Arm a Leg and probably a Kidney...

It really comes down to how much you can DIY or How much you want to spend. I've looked into it before and this company sell shift rod kits to keep original shift linkages to 02a/j shift tower. Not entirely sure if the mk2 has a different throw to a mk1 shifter. Also the eurovan cable kit but I think you could find cheaper, and have been told the adjusters slip quite often.
