Did my first tyre rotation and found my pilot sport 3 front tyres went from 7mm to 5.6mm in 7 months over 4000km distance!

I think I need to be more mindful on calm slow pull aways but damn I'm already thinking about my next set of tyres since my GTI was recently tuned and has significantly more torque than stock - looks like these tyres will do well to get to 15,000km at this rate.

What tyres do you guys use or reccomend? Maybe there is something else there that will keep its tread for longer?

slowmo

I know the RE002 and RE003 aren't rated that well but my set of RE002's that I rotate twice a year has done almost 40,000kms and still have about 3mm left all around.

My mk6 is stock though.

Currently on a set of RE002 and I have 15k on the fronts and they are down to 3mm. I also have a heavy right foot and a stage 1 tune. I had hoped for more.

I'm guessing touring tyres last longer but offer less grip and longer braking distances

bridgestone have some touring tyres that have a 50,000km life warranty on them but i dont know well they will suit this car

schattenblau

50k guaranteed life ?

all decent tyres will get chewed up by nz chip road surfaces.

schattenblau

good offer but turanzas are some of the craptiest tyres out there.

not for performance cars.
