It's a Merc'd Navara/Alaskan.

People speculate that BMW and Audi will follow suit, however neither have commercial vehicle divisions (the X-Class was developed and is sold by M-B Vans).

I don't really get this, not merc at all. Would have surely been better to ramp production of G wagon utes and  used volume to get a reasonably priced entry model.

Saves money, buy a Navara, stick a 3 pointed star on the front and voila (opps, that's French, neither German or Japanese)
