I agree, obviously his target audience are Australians , so that might explain some of it.
Basically the video says in Aussie
Each dealership makes on average $43m
6% on new cars
10% on secondhand cars
20% on parts
60% in servicing vehicles
Having to service your new car at the dealership doesn't void any warranty
Plus customer service by some major car manufacturers is poor

The stuff he says about people not knowing their rights and dealers taking advantage is fair enough, they should honor warranties properly.
But I don't see the problem with them making a profit. Everyone knows the bigger money is to be made in services.

Provided ithe services are done on time, and in accordance with the manufacturers servicing requirements your warranty is safe as houses!.  You don't even need to use genuine parts, as long as the alternative parts are fit for purpose."


The NZ consumer guarantees act has no alignment with that muppets Aussie industry rhetoric thankfully.
