You need to take it to the dealer you bought it from and give them a chance to fix it

How much oil is it using per "x" amount of kms? And what engine is it and how many kms has the car done?

It is 2010 A4 avant 1.8T. Last top up the oil at 81100s and at 81590Km is already at 1/2 looking at the MMI

Also noticed that the muffler is covered with carbon and lots of stains underneath the muffler in my garage.

1l over 1000km is considered normal

Excuse my ignorance but I thought whats considered normal is 1qtz per 1200 MILES that close to 2000 KM? Ami missing anything?

What???
That would mean using 15l of oil between services. I guess you would never need an actual oil change if you are replacing twice the oil volume between services.

Anyone has any experience on this?
There is a revised PCV valve that is supposed to help , but in most cases the pistons need replacing. Take it back to where you brought it. If you have Autosure or some other sort of mechanical warranty take it to a Audi dealer to get fixed.

Yes, and owners manuals state that too.
I would not be ok with it but the dealer will point you to that.

0.5l per 620 miles or 1000km is the limit to be considered normal, if you are burning more than this the car has the high oil consumption problem. the best forum for information is here: http://www.audizine.com/forum/showthread.php/383430-THE-B8-A4-Oil-Consumption-Thread

Jap import cars will not be fixed by Audi in NZ under warranty (they will do 3rd party warranty work tho)  - they sent me a massive email stating this - I had my autosure warranty cover the piston replacement - $9800 total claim amount.

Audi will insist on a service followed by a oil consumption test. Depending on how badly it fails, they will advise you of a stage 1 (PCV change) or a stage 2 (piston replacement). Bear in mind stage 1 is a temporary fix and it will eventually go bad.

Get the chain tensioner done at the same time as the engine is out of the car - costs $650 for the kit. Worth looking at is also the water pump (known failure mode) and the engine needs to be mainly out to replace this, i got them to change my PCV and DV at the same time under the warranty.

The water pump on those is super expensive a well from memory.
