Modding MK6 Golf GTI with MK6 Golf R Tail Lights
« on: September 08, 2017, 12:16:04 pm »
Hi Guys

Can anyone who has done the mod themselves on a GTI please get in touch to share your experience?
I a ma bit reluctant to buy a pair of Chinese Import Tail Lights with resistor packs if they are not going to have a good fitment, fade over time or throw any other issues.
The seller has dropped his price from $1000 to $800 with installation but I am a bit wary of letting anyone else do the install as the whole thing seems a bit dodgy. I might also need to spend the same amount of money dealing with a leaky intake. I also realise I could be better off buying the tail lights myself off eBay or BKS Tuning and get them fitted with a bit of help from a member on here with the recoding.

Keen to see pictures of resistor packs in any of your cars where you have done the mods yourself.
Shout out if you're free to chat privately.

Cheers,

2009 MK6 Golf GTI DCC

Its one of the better mods that I did to mine they look a million times better. In saying that I got them off of a VASK member and all I had to do was remove all mine and put the new ones in. They had resistor packs so there was no need to do any coding. Not to sure where he got them from but they are very very good quality.
Its an easy mod to do if you are going to do it yourself.

I have a picture offline. I'm looking to buy it to use as well.

Hey Guys,

I recently helped a mk6 GTI owner to get Golf R tail lights, including installing and coding a set on my own mk6 GTI.
After speaking with the supplier, I should be able to get these lights around the $550-600 landed. They are not genuine however.
But have all harness and required parts to make them plug and play. Will need to order 3 sets at minimum to have access to this price.
