Amazing how much kit comes on that car, it's got seats, seat belts, steering wheel and a heater!  What are those funny handles in the front doors, some sort of switch for the electric windows?

Nah it's french... it's also showing no oil pressure or fuel, but they're probably both OK too ;D The temp gauge should fail any minute - it's obviously been repaired in the past.

Dunno why the French get knocked for reliability, I've had several, and apart from a dry joint in the starter motor of one, they have been faultless.
To emphasise the point, does a single day pass that someone is not bleating about a problem with their VW on here or even worse on farcebook?
In saying that, I have had a faultless run with my VW.

I think its oil temp, not oil pressure?

I think you're right. Bit strange as one would expect the pressure to be more critical but temperature is also important - must be the French-ness of it.
These are my thoughts and opinions - sometimes I'm wrong, but not often ;-)

BMW M cars have an oil temp gauge on the dash - no oil pressure.

Can confirm as  past owner of a Pug 106 and currently a 206 gti that they have both oil and water temp gauges.
Pugs are strange lovable creatures  but not as crazy as Alfas....well just my opinion

Having owned several of each marque, I'd have to agree with above. I'm actually very tempted with this little pug... Hmm
