It may be an OEM design - there are other cars also running that setup, and not just Escorts.
I would suggest they were used to reduce intake noise and, as form follows function, that is why they look like exhaust mufflers, because they do the same job?

Adolf Loos would approve

Yup, managed to watch most of it before the F1 race and the remainder today.
Seems to be some inane comments...

I had in mind those commenting, but there was a bit more 'padding' than might have been needed...

They gas on too much. It's way more boring than project Binky. It's nice to see the other cars they do, and some of what they are talking about is mildly interesting but they just blah blah blah instead of showing us the work.
The tea, funk, and innuendo of PB is a little tiring too, but they are mechanics.
The end is nigh, but the end of what is the question?

I think it is more of a company promotional series and they are featuring Gordon's build (with his approval) as he is well known and not Joe from Bognor Regis.

Watched it earlier - was quite surprised the Stratos (replica) was using a supercharged engine - I would have gone for the Alfa V6 on TBs.

now that Binky is moving to completion, I realise that I was a little unfair to the boys, Binky remains bonkers, but nicely built bonkers

Binky still has a few years left - the trimming, brakes, suspension, transmission and ENGINE still has to be done.  ;D

I hope so. As much as I want to see it finished I will be sad when it is.
