Car has done this twice now. Sat for 2 days and battery dead.

Nothing has been added to the car, alternator chargers up to 14.4 volts, doesn't drop with lights, ac, radio on.

I havnt tried the parasitic drain test as I dont know how to get the car into sleep mode. I read online to arm the car alarm with doors closed (manually) and test fuses with meter not pulling fuses out as this can wake up some moduels, but how do I set alarm with the battery dosconnected?

Any help would be great.

Going to start with the bluetooth disconnected see how I get on.

golf gti, battery 2 years old.

keep the battery connected to test for current draw.

open the drivers door and pop the bonnet then engage the latches with by pushing a screwdriver or something through the latch, then alarm the can and let it sit for 15 min
it should go into sleep mode and then you can check the current draw and with the battery connected.

just remember to "open" the door and bonnet before you try to slam them closed!

So thought I won this battle by buying a new battwry. But after leaving the car for 5 days battery voltage was 3.5volts.

When doing the parasitic drain test is this correct.
Open hood and doors and locked them with a screw driver.
Arm car with remote. Then disconnect the battery cable (ground)
Or do I disconnect first then arm the car.
Volt meter: black wire to possive lead and red to battery cable ground.
Then with another meter test the fuses without pulling them out.

I'm going to disconnect stereo and see if that's a problem.

Any way to test the alarm itself? I've read online that sometimes the door sensor doesn't work correctly and drain the battery.

Any help would be great.

What stereo has it got? Is the stereo original?

Stereo isn't orginal. I installed an aftermarket one myself done correctly. Also been fine for 2 years. Have pulled the fuse for radio so will see how that goes. Also just installed a bluetooth voltage meter so will show the voltage drop.

Side note.
Only had this problem since getting my abs module replaced any thoughts on that one?

Why are you disconnecting the battery?

Leave the battery alone and do as was suggested - How are you going to measure a parasitic loss if there's no power?

By connecting an ammeter in series with the battery negative terminal you can see what the parasitic current draw is.
