Hey,

Just poped down to the local key cutter and he said he cant copy my key as it has a chip in it, he couldnt tell me how much it was going to cost but sent me to Armstrongs, so I went there and its going to cost $235!! just to get two copies made, it doesnt even have remote locking!

Im woundering if this is the best place to go and if anybody has any recomendations?

Its alot of money for keys!

???

Cheers

CCS made a new chipped (works with factory imobilizer) key for me. But they needed my car for a whole day, as Germany needs to be Emailed details from my car.
They verify ID is my car (nightime there - daytime here - takes a day)
Then details for new key are sent to NZ.
CCS (or any Vag dealership) then make a new key.
Total cost incl key $90.
When your car was made two keys were sold new with it.

How come you only have one ?

I have no idea where the other keys are, the guy who sold it to me said he didnt have them. Cheers for the info, might have to go down and let them work their magic.

Its still expensive but I guess it has to be done.

Mine has chip too and the locksmith/key duplicator is too ignorant to warn me about it and stupid me not to realize it.
Well, I;m in welly so I asked the Team European to do it for me. They're the dealer here in welly.

I went for the non light key. Just had it done yesterday, since I was at uni my mum took it there, she said she was very impressed with the service at CCS.

Cost $120 and they cleaned the car too!

Reconmend it
