Hey all does anybody know the part numbers for the Mk4 R32 mirror caps and glass? They are shorter than the standard Mk4 Golf but not as short as the Lupo mirrors.

There are standard sized mirrors and then stubby mirrors, which seem to be on a lot of Japanese spec models. You should be able to get some of either type from a wrecker if you are after a used replacement/s.

The R32 Mirrors on my own car. We?re different to the Japanese spec stubby mirrors
However they where shorter than the ugly huge mirrors the NZ new cars were equipped with.

OP - are you wanting to replace your R32 mirrors or would you like to add R32 mirrors to your project?

You are correct the stubbies are cool they are the ones on earlier Mk4 Golfs (Pre 2000) and Lupo's. However the issue I have is on my car (5 Door Mk4 R32) One mirror is an OEM R32 mirror and the other has been replaced withe stubby from Lupo/Early Golf. the issue is the Lupo/Early Golf wing mirror is a different shade of silver the car. so it looks bit odd haha. Hence why I am looking for a replacement.

So I recommend replacing the big mirror with another stubby and respray both?

You reckon? Is it that hard to source an OEM Mk4 R32 Wing mirror?
By the way you are correct their is a difference bewtween the standard Golf mirror and the R32 mirror. In order of size (biggest-smallest) it goes Standard Mk4 mirror > Mk4 R32 > Lupo/pre 2000 Mk4.

sourcing a set of stubby mirrors wont be too difficult. MAy even be lucky and get a set from pick a part or Zebra etc.
Mk4's end up in there almost daily now.
