Anyone able to give any clues on how to remove the two outside dash vents (by the doors)....
Looking at ETKA there's a screw - but stuffed if I can see the head when looking into the grilled bit...
Do you have to keep it pointing down, straight or up?

If you are talking about the later type dash they just pull out. Carefully pry around edge with flat screwdriver and pull out.

in that case, if they're anything like the MK4 vents, keep a careful watch on the small bits that provide friction to keep the vent in the position you want, they go floppy without these and they can fly out when you take the vent out
