Mine is starting to leak coolant.

Can anyone recommend a good brand or supplier of a good brand of radiator for an URS6 6spd manual. Genuine ones out of USA or Germany are around $800-$900 and there's a reasonable chance of shipping damage so I'm not keen on sourcing one that way.

The online catalogues give P/N as 4A0121251A for a manual gearbox URS6

Cheers

Speed.co.nz - Give them a call.

When I had my GTI-6, the rad split an end tank... Stealership price was $1300, Speed ordered one for me at $400, delivered 8 days later from the OEM supplier and packaged in a Peugeot box.

I went with OEM from the local Audi dealer many years ago, cost was about $800 - $900 picked up from the dealer. Try Eurocity in Napier they are pretty good price wise.

Mine is Auto and I couldn't find anything cheaper, and that also put the risk on the dealer to get it to NZ in one piece.

There is at least one (and maybe two I can't remember) temp switch that screws into the rad that you might want to renew.

Apparently the OEM brand is Langerer & Reich, and used Auto rad will fit a manual, source:

Can't vouch for it but much cheaper.

thanks for the suggestions, much appreciated. I did ring the dealer but as usual these things were 'discontinued' 4 years ago

Have a look out for local radiator manufacturers and see if they can fabricate one for you. Might be a cheaper option and it will be a decent bit of kit. All aluminium. Most modernish cars have plastic expansion tanks.

I find it hard to believe that there are no stock if they were still manufacturing them 4 years ago, I would try another dealer and ask them to cross reference there may be another part number.

edit, coincidentally 4 years ago is about when Audi dropped the support for these vehicles, makes me think that the "parts guy" you spoke to at the dealership was just being lazy assuming that there are no parts available for this vehicle without looking.

Thanks again everyone for all the advice. I've got an auto trans version arriving today via south auckland radiators so I'll see how I go with that. If it doesn't last then i'll look at spending the money on getting one made to match. Cheers

Took a few weekends in between the rain and the kids but got there in tte end . I'm glad I got new tstat housing and heater spigot as the old ones were ready to crumble to dust. And most of the hoses weren't far behind  :o
The original radiator had a scary level of crap blocking the cooling channels,,
I tried uploading some photos previously but I gave up and put them in the r and Rs fb page
