GTi cooling fans

Anyone got some radiator cooling fans for a Mark 5 GTi?...or know where the best place to source them at reasonable pricing eg E-Bay? been quoted $1,100 from the local deaership!!!

What's the problem with yours?

You can open them, clean out the brush holders, and they'll probably work fine for years - depends on the codes you have. I had the "mechanically jammed" code on the Mrs Touran, and it made them run flat out. Cleaning the crap out of the poorly designed motor fixed it fine.

They're yet ANOTHER crappy design VW uses.

Tried this yesterday......mine has 4 brushes, and they're little more than tiny nubs of carbon. Also worn are the pressure springs, which have scored the commutators nicely.. I can get brushes easily enough, but not the springs.
