I?m trying to find a manual online for my stereo but need to identify the model first.

It?s a radio and CD and has Bluetooth. Also has a usb socket and card reader on the front.

Car is a Japanese import but I?m unsure if this is the unit that was originally in the car.

Thanks

Definitely not original. Original was RCD300 I think.

I found it now, it?s an aftermarket one that must have been installed after import. There are quite a few on Trademe.

So are these official Head units or replicas?

I upgraded it yesterday to an Apple Car play unit  which looks, sounds and works great. There are all sorts of suspect stories about them on the internet ?removed from new cars? etc... but why?

I bought this one from trademe and am very happy with it.

They are great units,  have had no issues. VW radios fitted to Chinese models.

they are good units with many features, at a good price

but ...

they don't sound as good as the original euro stereos, especially on fm radio where the rcd300 used a diversity aerial system.

so far haven't seen a chinese equivalent of the old rcd500/510 multi-disc, single unit players

there are also issues integrating them with steering wheel controls.

Interesting 🙂 Good to know they are official units. Would be interested to know how they happen to end up on the likes of trademe?

I fitted the CarPlay one in to my partners GTi yesterday and must admit I was a bit worried that the quality would not be great but it?s boosted the functionality and modernized the interior plus it sounds pretty good. So I?m really pleased and more importantly so is she 😎

I have a 500 or 510 (not sure which) in my Amarok and am thinking of replacing that with one of these units but would need to get it professionally fitted to work with the reversing camera and steering wheel buttons.
