I think it's up to May 2012 or something, after this they used a revised tensioner

I have a mk6 gti 09 and a q5 09 at work both with bent valves. I would change it if it was mine.

I've got a great running 2010 2L TSI engine with chain and tensioner replaced already available if they want to go the replacement engine route rather than rebuild.

I have just put new valves in one. How much do you want for it?

99% sure it won't have. There is an inspection plug to see the tensioner so yes it's possible to check.
PM me if you need the job done, have done lots and have also seen plenty of broken engines as a result of failed chains / tensioners.
I cannot understand dealers telling people it's not an issue. Not their problem I guess if your engine goes boom.
100% cause for concern!!

Do you still do these? I messaged you. Thanks in advance

Does this apply to all MK6 models? Can we verify with VIN if it has the dodgy tensioner/chain or the good one?

Only 2.0tsi.

Thanks for the reply, much appreciated!  So  the 1.4tsi is good and safe from the Timing chain/tensioner issue?
