Hi all,

I need some tech info on removal and installation of the front cv axles on my mk4 R32. I cannot find the torque settings for the bolts on the gearbox side and the nut on the axle side, Doctor Google doesn't show me any thing helpful.

Help please.

For the Axel nuts just tight as you can get em, they keep your wheel bearing together, I usually use a 3/4" Drive Power Bar with Two meters of pipe slid over the handle for extra ooga ooga power.

the Axle nuts at a Guess if they are the ones im thinking. bit of Decent threadlocker on the threads and crank them up to 40-60ft/lb?

Thanks for the info. ft/lbs sounds a bit much, possibly 40-60 NM?

Job done today and was easier than i thought it would be. Only done the front left cv removal and installation to change the outer boot. hardest part was separating the ball joint from the axle, rest went smooth.
Info someone posted from the Bentley manual for the torques were as follow, 80 NM for the gearbox drive bolts and for the large axle bolt its 250 NM + 90 deg, then steering from lock to lock and the loosen bolt and then back to 250 NM + 90 deg.
Hopefully it all stays in one piece.  8)
