Mk4 two button flip key
« on: October 26, 2019, 11:51:01 am »
Hey, does anyone know the best way to get a replacement key? With my Mk3 I got a blank online for a few dollars and got a locksmith to put in a transponder and cut/code it but I havenít got any experience with the alarm fob keys. Iím in Christchurch but assuming online is the way to go? Thanks in advance!

as long as you have insured your replacement key/fobs are the same frequency and are recognized on the mk4 immo system?

mk4's are the easiest cars to program keys to, there should be a few people that could help you down there. otherwise if you have VCDS, laptop and an internet connection?
I should be able to assist you remotely.

Pretty sure you need 4 digit pin from dash cluster or from ecu immo dump for adding new key.

Blank keys are still $50-80 to cut. plus cost of key.
sometimes it's easier to buy the key precut.

Getting the SKC (4 Digit pin) is easy enough, as long as you have a genuine VCDS cable.
