A4 B5 Immobiliser Hack
« on: March 06, 2020, 09:15:59 pm »
Hi I'm assuming the RFID chip in my key has failed in some way as I cannot get rid of that damn flashing light and the engine starts and immediately dies.
I've tried some of the hacks on Youtube, but they don't work. Any ideas anyone?

I was doing some research on this and stumbled upon the following. The link is currently broken but here’s the relevant post:

When I had my 1996 Audi A4; it had exactly the same Immobiliser device and exactly the same problem. It went back to the dealer for a warranty repair and they replaced 4A0-953-234 and within a few days did exactly the same. The solution is the tiny two pin plug-coupler on the immobiliser pick-up coil around the ignition barrel. When you get to it, just unplug and re-plug that little connector a few times. The wiping action of the contacts cleans them and you'll be good to go for another x years.
