Where's locally?

EDIT: The likes of EDL or the Bolt Shop should have them.

Yeah, it isn't an uncommon pitch - where are you looking?

The ones i have found are stupid expensive. I was just wanting to see if someone used a different kinda of bolt to do this

That doesn't specify thread pitch - using the wrong one with screw up the adjuster. However, it is a machine screw - full thread, so doesn't have a shank that may bottom out in the adjuster.
Literally ANY hardware store will carry the bolts, or screws, with a variety of head types, and I would be surprised if one cost more than a couple of bucks.

Again, where is 'locally'?

Locally = m8x1.25 nz on google. It would help provide a starting point

Repco/supercheap could confirm m8 in stock but not pitch 1.25. Surely someone here has replaced a belt on a mk3?

Must be a bolt elsewhere on the engine that is that size.  Inlet manifold perhaps?  Pretty common size

WHERE THE damn DO YOU LIVE? IS THAT TOO HARD A QUESTION TO ANSWER?
THERE COULD BE SOMEONE IN YOUR NEIGHBOURHOOD WHO CAN GIVE YOU ONE, OR TELL YOU EXACTLY WHERE TO GET ONE!

I did try calling them but no answer. Emailed too and no reply. I am in the manurewa district so will try and search the manukau area.

I'd forgotten about them. They have some magical toys for the workshop there too.

Seriously - you can't source an M8 bolt with 1.25 pitch?  No-one stocks them?  What length do you need and full thread or what?  I have plenty old ones sitting around.

Gordo

The Champion rack of fasteners you find at REPCO, for example, have 8x1.25 bolts. They are not uncommon, so can't understand the difficulty.

I have bolt if you need to loan one,

I probably have a spare tensioner and V-Belt too

Mitre10 have several bolts to suit. Popped in to look at workbenchs and took a stroll down the fasteners aisle. I'd almost go so far as to say most of their M8 bolts are 1.25.
