Webbs upcoming (14th August 2022) auction has n '87 Coupe Quattro listed...estimating $45 - 50K  !!!  One owner for 32 years, 233,000 Kms.   Will be interesting to see how close to this estimate it fetches but if anywhere near it will set a new benchmark for these cars!

I think someone at Webb's needs to understand the difference between a Coupe quattro (which is what they're selling) and an Ur-quattro - which is what most of the blurb (and the optimistic pricing) refers to. You only need to look at the recent TradeMe listings for other restored 80's/90's VAG cars that have appeared (Golf GTI, Scirocco, Corrado) to see they're not selling for that kind of money.

Was passed in at $27500...plus 15% buyers premium and GST on the premium...a bit over 32K if they negotiated a sale at that offer level.
Would like to know who the vendor, and possible new owners are!

Indeed. These cars are getting more rare, in working condition.

Would be interesting to know how many 4-door 90 quattro sedans are still on the road in NZ, compared to the Coupes. They might end up being even more rare

I see this car is back for sale on Trade Me...asking $17,000.  Was there for a month or two asking 20, but evidently no takers.

The 'Webbs' A coupe Q together with a lot of spares, has been sold through Trade Me to a rapt Jonathon Butler who bought it from 'Amanda' in Auckland and drove it home to Wanaka.  A bargain for him!!!
