R32 headlights. Are the different to GTi?

Looking to replace my GTi headlights and have found some in Oz that are reasonably priced but the Trade-me ad says R32 only. The vendor can’t give me any more info so thought I would ask here before purchasing.

Do you already have xenon lights? If not they wont work. If yes it should be plug & play

Likely because all R32 had xenon but gti didn't so is guaranteed will fit all r32

NZ new Mk5 R32’s had Xenon’s standard, NZ new Mk5’s they were an option that very few people opted for. Japanese import Mk5 GTI’s had xenon’s standard but had no steering wheel controls.

Mine is a Jap import.

Did not know about the steering wheel controls on Japanese cars, had always assumed it was an option
