Hi,

I am new to forum, here goes...

Black 2006 MK5 GTi.  6 Speed Manual.  18" wheel upgrade with 235/40 tyres.  Dark tints.
Under the hood:  Carbon fibre cold air box and K&N panel filter.  Stage 1 APR remap.  3" downpipe.  APR engine mount insert.

So I can pass for standard at the lights but I guess the sound that comes out when opening her up says I have fiddled a little  ;)
Really should get around to getting dyno I suppose.

Now outside of new car warranty so time for some serious mods! - currently looking at stage 3 APR kit, upgrade brembo brake kit (to stop 400 odd horsies somehow) and adjustable suspension.

Cheers!

Sounds like some nice mods. How long have you had the car for? Any pics?

Here is what an APR stage 3 MK5 GTi looks like:  (pretty much like any other black GTi :) with a couple of APR stickers, you cannot hear exhaust until about 2500rpm when she really starts to dance).  Most people will only ever see the back of it however :)

Today I left Club MkIV GTI and joined Club MkV GTI - and I'm absolutely thrilled!

2007 Golf GTI, DSG, in tornado red

It's just made it's merry way up from Palmerston North to Auckland. I've only had a quick drive of it, but so far SO GOOD!

Will post pics when it's all cleaned up and bugs removed :P

it'll be interesting to hear your comparisons, the consensus was that with the Mk5, the GTI got its mojo back

Serious mojo.  Loving it. The MkIV and MkV GTIs are not related in any way.  Not that I'm hating on my beloved Smurf.
I'd make comparisons, but it's not possible to make them fairly. There's a 7 year age gap between the two cars for a start...

Here's a pic taken at the dealership. Haven't had a chance to take any decent pics in daylight yet!

it's a pretty good, safe, comfortable family car - which is what we wanted. couldn't go GTI unfortunately, we looked at the polo GTI but was a bit too small for our needs.

wife agrees that we should have gone mk5 GTI too..  ::)
