does that mean a VR6 into a mark II Golf is bad?

That's one of the coolest Mk 2 transplants around!

an E30 325 is pretty uninspiring compared to a rotary powerd E30!

No problem with a rotor into a 316 or 318 or rotors at all. The tech is quite cool. But this thing was a weak sounding 12a. From where he shifted there looked to be no torque at all. I thought that trying to make a fast engine using a ported rotary (20b PP excepted) went out in the 80's. 13b turbos are dirt cheap and I thought pretty much were a no-brainer compared to porting.

If he spent the money on a few mods to the 2.5 litre 6 he would have had a quicker more driveable car rather than going through the hassle of the engine swap to the pretty much obsolete 12a.

(Anyone - feel free to correct what little i know about rotaries!)

Rotarys dont need to be modified to run on hydrogen.. piston engines too.. still it doesnt make them cool
