Hey all,

my father is looking at picking up a 2003 TDI allroad.

Any hints or tips regarding this model? I hear there may be some kind of problems with the air suspension so Id assume a warranty would be the way to go.

Its NZ new with about 100k on the clock, FSH from Gilltraps. Would they offer some sort of warranty even though it isnt sold via them? Would have to pay for this of course.

Would make a really nice mountain car so im gunning for it  ;)

People like Autosure can do an after-market warranty, but you need to readthe fineprint with something like an Allroad, as I'm not sure that he complicated air-sus units would be covered on a standard policy.

Lovely cars, though. I'd have one in a heartbeat.

The allroad has an air intake for the air suspension in the spare wheel well. There is a drain hole in the bottom of the spare wheel well. So if you get suck in a river don't sit there with the engine running. The 2.5 & 2.7 cambelt (5 years/120,000km) is a pain in the arse to do - 5.3 hours. Other than that its an A6
