Is the Audi R-Zero actually being considered to go into
production? Has it even got anything to do with Audi
or is it just an idea those three students came up with?

The end is nigh, but the end of what is the question?

What an ugly car. Can't see why they would do that.

Just a cocept car/design study. I doubt there is any production plans very much.

Where is the technical details?? I read a little while ago, so don't quote me on the specs, but its a fully electric vehicle with four individual motors, over a 1000nm @ 0rpm (or was it a 1000nm per motor?) and a projected top speed of 400-450kph.

The specs from www.sportscarcup.com/audi-r-zero say that it will
do 460km/h (286mph) and will get to 100kp/h in just 3 seconds!!
It is powered by four electric motors (one at each wheel) and four
800 volt batteries (one for each motor) producing up to 2939nm and
1091hp!!!

But how long would it take to recharge and how long would it remain charged?

Good questions. And what will happen if, exactly at the moment you put down the 3000Nm of torque, the rear left motor decides to go on strike?

This being said, I'm glad to see the concepts move towards electrical cars. Good for the environment and a real innovation for the car industry, after decades of tweaking but no real change.

That would make for one heck of a funny car accident :P

as it is one of four motors, the issue would be less acute than if it was two wheel drive, presumably, there would be some form of traction control and power would be cut to the other motor on the axle, probably with a similar response rate as ABS, i.e. so fast you'd only notice that it wasn't accelerating as fast as you'd hoped

HandsomeDan

I would have preferred to hear that you'd go around and around REALLY REALLY fast...but it was not to be. ;)
