Sorry boss, but if you could give us a brief rundown on the urq.

Production years :    1981 - - - ?

Badges or Transfers ?  which years.

Instant differences between coupe and urq ?

Whats with the rings on the side ?

Have pieces of your conversation with B Sting and John just trying to put it into order.

Saw a red  1985 turbo quattro coupe ??  at lights in town and got me wondering.

You say only about five 20 vs in NZ, how many 10 vs  roughly ?

1. 1980 - 1991.  RHD's started in 1982.

2. 20v's had no badging on the back apart from the Audi logo, not sure on (any) 10v differences.

3. Arches are the easiest exterior way to tell.

4. The symbol represent 4 companies who merged pre-war. NSU makers of the first rotary was one of them. Can't remember the others. I think all quattros had the rings on the side apart from the sport.

5. Not sure on numbers.

A classic example is the distributor in my car. It's an '86 WR urq and has the earlier (pre '84) distributor, all the numbers match, nothing dodgy, just that's what they got off the shelf when mine went together.
