Was behind Continentals white R8 turning on to the St Marks onramp to the Southern...

He nailed it around the corner and accelerated rapidly away with no loss of traction what so ever - floored my 335i, traction control came on, power cut, game over  :'(

They are actually 'only' $260,000 for a manual and an extra $12,000 for the S-tronic.

I still haven't seen one, yet it's not uncommon for me to see 2 997's following eachother :-/

The white one that races about in the central Auckland area is getting some good use - surely there can't be that many 'serious' buyers taking it for a test drive?

So you are unsure of Audis build quality? I would hope that the R8 could handle being thrashed quite often...

He sells Fiats and Alfas - he would always question the build quality of any car!

The 1st 2500km shouldn't be above 4000rpm or 3/4 throttle. We replaced a RS4 engine under warranty at 32,000km. EML light on, smoking at operating temperature from one exhaust. Replaced plugs and noted #4 was oiled up. Also coil was stuffed. Replaced coil. Ran it and still smoking gently, e-mail to Audi and they wanted the engine back to strip it down, we suspected an oil ring had shat itself. The bores are lined so you can't put new ones in. A week later a new short block arrived. Swapped the bits over. Spoke to bloke to explain that he gets brand new engine, most people would happy. Bloke explains that he bought the Audi as he has broken 2 new M3s before this.  Also after more probing and one which he was proud of as 'they are bulletproof' a Nissan GTR on a gumball. Discussion with bloke to recommend he follows the running in period this time otherwise he will pay the 28000? for the engine as Audi won't pay for another.
