Anyone got one they would like to sell me, looking for one in unmarked excellent condition (or very close to if there is such an example) other than the two currently listed.

rambo_005

What's wrong with the two currently listed?

WRURQ

I'm a fussy bugger and unless it's as good or better than my 1992 Integrale Evo then it's not up to scratch....

rambo_005

It's always going to be better in my books, cause it's an RS2 and not an Integrale Evo ;D

Probably only a handfull of NZ RS2s fit that title in NZ. Mint will = premium, for example look at the white 16v Mk2 for sale by Ripvonsnorter vs other recent sales (discounting the absolute steal that GTi just scored).

PS what wrong with the two for sale, these cars are capable of easily twice the milage thet they have on board if maintained?

It?s left me scratching my head too  ???, mechanically/interior on mine are in very good condition, yes the body work needs slight attention, my RS2 drives so well, better than my RS4, the head service guy at Giltraps said to me it?s the best example mechanically he had seen!

If you wanted to buy a near perfect example your talking 50k plus! (and the rest, that?s if you can get the person to sell!)

I am taking mine off the market, I love it and now will set about making it into a perfect example of the RS2, I am sick of time wasters (I have had several now) not knowing what the car is or wanting a perfect 12 year old car, good look because they just aren?t out there!

WRURQ

Simon, please don't take it the wrong way. As I said I am a fuzzy bugger and am comparing to condition of my old Escort RS Cosworth and my Integrale which are both older with lower KM's and excellent condition. As such this is what I am after for that price and I am willing to pay top dollar for the right Car. Maybe there is not such an RS2 in existence and that's ok also.  I don't doubt what you are saying and it's a great RS2 just not the one for me to be 100% happy with at that price.

Murray's RS2 (now in the UK) was what I would call as good an example as you would see in NZ.
Can't recall the k's on it, but mechanically, body and interior were in fabulous condition. He did spend in excess of $20k replacing some items and having a few of the panels re-sprayed due to them having a stone chip on them!!! Also a new windshield that has a few tiny stone chips (I really mean tiny, like half a dozen about the size of salt grains).
I'm fussy too, but Murray puts fussy into a new category.
I was truly sad to see that car go, as I knew I would probably never again see one as pristine as it.

Keep your Integrale, the RS2 you are seeking s in the VAG museum

Hmmm, Td19s was at the car show earlier this year and IMO its a minter and beautifully prepared for the show. He has the bigger brakes (new from prior owner), and I suspect he dosent drive his as much as mine (less bug splats and road dirt).  Both of these are sub 100k on the clock. Have not looked at the remainder of the population. The blue car that was previously in Nicks family is supposed to be top notch also. In new owners hands now though. Anyone else rate any remaining cars as "mint"?

There supposed to be an "as new" (sub 500km) car in a museum in the UK... ;).

PS. 80Seq post a pic of the Grale.

Like I think Ive said before, the problem with RS2, infact all RS Audis, as unique and rare as the are (excluding the RS4 V8) they are just to usable and practical not to use daily IMO. Its only now that you are seeing RS2s being used as weekend cars only, I mean take a look at the RS cars for sale ATM in NZ, most of them have at least 70,000kms on the clock.
Escort RS Cosworths and my Integrales IMO arent really daily drivers, the werent even from new (well maybe the first owner). This is why I believe so many of RS2s arent pristen condition.

Fair call. Only thing stopping me using it as a daily is that the Mk1 already has 180k on the clock and uses half the fuel to zoom around town.

I understand where you are coming from, and i am sorry if it seems i am having a go.

I love my RS2, it is a very special car and thats why now i am going to keep it, the money i was going to spend on the RS4 will now be spent on the RS2. To start i am going to get it stripped and re-painted, all panels and doors off, anything that needs replacing will be done, new badges, wheels powder coated, anybody know of a really good painter?

Looks to me like an urquattro 20v (RR) that has had quite a few sport quattro modifications. The engine is either RR urquattro or 3B S2,but the intake, turbo, manifolds etc look genuine sport quattro items. The suspension looks standard RR configuration but it has sport quattro type brake calipers and rotors. There is also a lot of customisation to the interior. From the little German I understand,it looks like the owner wanted to create a car with the look of a sport quattro, but on a LWB urquattro 20v platform. The use of S1 in the description is possibly there only to grap attention.
