UPDATE: Have completed the rebushing/new tie-rod ends on my

'89 100 2.2EE. So it really is much nicer a drive and the 'clunk' of metal on metal as i enter the drive has gone. Also did the outer CVs and things sound so much better at full lock when parking into a tight space at the supermarket this evening.

QUESTION: who is a knowledgeable Wheel Alignment co. that others can vouch as being on to it when it comes to this 'ole model. I doubt that the local Dunlop guy would be any good... he didn't even realise the car was FWD!

Nothing to recommend out West ?  Thinking I might need an alignment too.
Beating up parking wardens ain't a crime.
